June 19th & 20th: Florence - Birthplace of the Italian language, the Renaissance and the Opera! Fall under the spell of the powerful Medici family on your guided tour. See Giotto’s Bell Tower and the imposing marble cathedral in the Piazza del Duomo (whose marble dome is large enough to shelter all of Tuscany within its shadow). Stand before Ghilberti’s legendary Gates of Paradise (so dubbed by Michelangelo) and the classical statues of the Piazza della Signoria - here you can see where Michelangeo’s David originally stood. You’ll also visit the Accademia where the original David stands, the Chiesa di Santa Croce (the final resting place of Michelangelo, Machiavelli and Galileo) Finally, you will enter the Galleria degli Uffizi, one of the greatest musems in the world for a guided tour! Please note that 2 full days in Florence will give you ample free time for shopping and sightseeing.

June 21: Venice - Tour St. Mark’s Square, which Napolean referred to as “the finest drawing room in Europe”. See the 324-foot Campanile, whose steps were built so that a noble could ascend on horseback. Visit the Doge’s Palace and the Bridge of Sighs, named for the sighs of the heroes of the Risorgimento as they crossed that bridge into their prison.
June 22 - Excursion- Winery in the heart of Chianti Country (Tuscany) - (typical lunch included) - Return to Hotel San Marco for dinner and time to enjoy the evening in the lovely town of Montecatini.

June 23: Pisa - See the Leaning Tower, the Baptistery and the Cathedral: the Piazza dei Miracoli which evokes Galileo’s spirit of scientific research and discovery. Opt to climb the steps to the top of the Tower, visit the Cathedral, the historical cemetery nearby, or shop for souvenirs and take pictures.
Lucca - The Central streets of this ancient city of Tuscany preserve the rectangular Roman plan. Piazza San Michele, with its stunning church, is on the site of the ancient Roman Forum. Specious squares, including Piazza Napoleone and Piazza San Martino, provide a striking contrast with the narrow streets, on one of which stands Giacomo Puccini’s house. Lucca is a city to be enjoyed by a slow walk inside its well-preserved medieval walls.

June 24 & 25: Rome - Recall the words “When falls the Collosseum, Rome shall fall” as you step inside the mighty Collosseum, the ultimate symbol of Rome. Try to imagine 50,000 cheering spectators watching gladiator battles unfold below! Drive by Piazza Venezia and the grassy ruins of the ancient Forum Romanum, once the very heart of the vast and influential Roman Empire. Here, Julius Caesar was cremated and the legendary Romulus is buried. See St. Martyred. Inside, admire Michelangelo’s Pieta and try to find the artists signature (it is the only scuplture he ever signed). Meet on the Spanish Steps for our walking tour. Learn the legend behind the Trevi Fountain and see the Pantheon, reconstructed by Emperor Hadrian around 120 A.D. View Michelangelo’s Moses and compare this immortal statue with that of David.
