LykonX™

The wearable mission platform.

LykonX is a patent-pending modular electronic carrier architecture designed to transform protective equipment into an intelligent, upgradeable mission system.

In final development

The platform integrates sensing, edge processing, communications, power distribution, and silent tactile alerts directly into the carrier while allowing the ballistic insert to remain removable, replaceable, and completely unmodified.

LykonX is not simply a sensor attached to a vest. It is an electronic infrastructure layer built into the equipment already worn by the operator.

The approach

Protection meets intelligence.

Traditional wearable electronics are commonly clipped onto equipment as separate devices. They add weight, create snag points, require independent power sources, and often compete for limited space on the operator’s kit.

LykonX takes a different approach.

A sealed power and data backbone is integrated throughout the textile carrier, connecting modular electronic docking points positioned around the ballistic insert. Sensors and mission modules can be installed, replaced, serviced, or upgraded without drilling into, wiring through, or otherwise modifying the armor.

The result is a carrier designed to evolve as rapidly as the mission.

Multi-modal threat detection

See what a screen would miss.

One implementation of LykonX is designed to detect unmanned aerial systems through multiple independent sensing modalities:

  • Radio-Frequency Detection

Passively scans for emissions associated with drone control, telemetry, navigation, video, cellular, and satellite communication links.

  • Acoustic Detection

Uses microphone arrays to identify motor and propeller signatures and estimate the direction of an approaching system.

  • Thermal Detection

Uses long-wave infrared sensing to identify and track thermal signatures beyond the limits of visible-light detection.

LykonX combines these observations to produce a fused threat assessment, directional bearing, and confidence value.

Silent tactile alerts

Feel the threat before you see it.

LykonX communicates direction through mechanically isolated haptic zones positioned around the wearer.

A vibration on the left, right, front, or rear of the carrier can indicate the direction of a detected threat. Pulse frequency can communicate estimated distance, while intensity or pattern can indicate detection confidence.

The operator receives actionable information without looking at a screen, hearing an audible alarm, or diverting attention from the mission.

Edge intelligence

It thinks at the edge.

Detection, sensor fusion, conflict resolution, and alert generation can occur locally on the carrier.

  • No cloud connection.
  • No external server.
  • No continuous network dependency.

LykonX is designed to operate at the tactical edge, including in denied, disconnected, intermittent, or bandwidth-limited environments.

Modular by design

One architecture, many missions.

The underlying architecture extends beyond drone detection.

Keyed and sealed electronic docking points can support interchangeable:

  • Sensing modules
  • Communication modules
  • Navigation modules
  • Identification systems
  • Environmental sensors
  • Power-management modules
  • Display interfaces
  • Tactical network gateways

Modules may be inspected, replaced, upgraded, or isolated without removing or modifying the ballistic insert.

Armor compatibility

Built around the armor, not through it.

Ballistic plates may contain ceramic, polyethylene, metal, aramid, or composite materials that interfere with antennas, sensors, and electronic signals.

LykonX deliberately routes sensing paths, power, and data around the plate rather than through it.

This preserves armor compatibility while enabling the carrier to function as an intelligent electronic system.

The vision

A platform, not a peripheral.

The future operator will not carry a growing collection of disconnected electronic devices.

The equipment itself will become the system.

LykonX represents Aspetto’s vision for the next generation of mission-worn technology: modular, connected, upgradeable, and designed to deliver intelligence directly to the individual operator.

Sense. Process. Alert. Act.
